Chanel has Hawaiian, Portuguese and Chinese ancestry. A graduated of St. Francis High School, she is a sophomore at Kapiolani Community College where she studies criminology and has aspirations to become a crime scene investigator. She is also a part-time dancer for Malu Productions.
Having overcome an eating disorder as a teenager, Chanel worked with personal trainer Matt Jones for four months prior to the pageant. Jones is the husband of Alicia Michioka, who held the title in 2003 and was a semi-finalist at Miss USA! |
