Biography

Miss Teen USA interview:

What is the craziest thing you have ever done?

Last year I was given the opportunity to ride an aerobatic plane / bi-plane at Hawaii's oldest glider company, "Honolulu Soaring". The pilot took me through the North Shore's skies as we did numerous loop-di-loops and crazy tricks. While we were in the air, I specifically remember the pilot say through the headpiece, "Okay, are YOU ready to fly this thing yourself?" There I was, the daredevil, grasping the steerer firmly and taking the glider in my control! It was one of the most memorable moments of my life...despite feeling nauseated immediately afterward. Haha!

What are your strongest talents?
Karate, acting, dancing, making people laugh and feel good about themselves, poetry, and public speaking.

Name one person, family, friend, celebrity, who has had the most influence on your life.
Jackie Tamayo (Mom) From bringing me up single-handedly to sacrificing her last dollar to buy me ice cream after a good report card, my mom truly is the most influential person in my life. Her unconditional love for her family, and the great example she's shown me of "The American Dream", is what has been my ultimate motivation in all I do.

Describe how you envision yourself in five years?
Five years in time would bring me fresh out of my college of choice, looking back at all the positive, fulfilling experiences of being a national title holder. I will have graduated with the pride of having successfully completed all my credits the best I could, and also have met lifelong friends. I'd be on the way to starring on a hit T.V. series, but not before going back home to Hawaii to help fulfill my mom's dream of opening her own restaurant!

What else do you want the judges to know about you?
I'm living "The American Dream", I am a devoted Christian, acting is one of my greatest passions, I love my Filipino culture, and one of my biggest priveleges is attending Punahou School, which is ranked #3 in the nation.
